( March 22, Geneva, Sri Lanka Guardian) The Sri Lanka resolution at the Human Rights Council will apparently be presented for adoption this morning Geneva-time, according to information coming from Geneva. This has been the most contentious issue of the current session of the Council in terms of political tension, including the harassment of human rights defenders in Geneva. The debate and likely vote can be followed on the Council’s webcast at http://www.unmultimedia.org/tv/webcast/, by selecting the Human Rights Council’s live channel, which is usually Channel 11 in the menu on the right. Contacts in Geneva expect the resolution to pass following a vote.
