ලක්බිමනිව්ස් "අණ්ඩපාලගේ" ( Underpala) කෙරුවාව

මාධ්‍යකලාවේ " පුන්ඩයා" ලෙස හැඳින්වූ බැංකොක් හී පිහිටි ලංකා තානාපති කාර්යාලයේ සේවය කරණ පන්දම්කාරයාගේ වෙස්මුහුණ හෙවත් අණ්ඩපාල

තමන්ගේ පුද්ගලික අවශ්‍යතා සඳහා දේශපාලන සම්බන්ධතා පාවිච්චි කරමින් ලංකාවේ විදේශ සමබන්ධතා වල පන්දම් කාරයෙකුගේ චරිතය රඟ පාමින් සිටින අයෙක් අණ්ඩපාල නමින් , සුමති පුවත්පත ආයතනය විසින් පල කරනු ලබන ලක්බිම නිව්ස් නැමති සති අන්ත පුවත් පතට තමන්ගේ පල් හෑලි ලියමින් සිටියි . ඔහු පසුගිය සති දෙකේදී ලංකා ගාර්ඩියන් වෙබ් අඩවිය සම්බන්ධයෙන් සහ එහි කටයුතු කරන අයට පහර දීම සඳහා තමන්ගේ ඉඩ වෙන් කර ගෙන මානසික ප්‍රමෝදයක යෙදෙන අයුරු පෙනේ.

අණ්ඩපාල යනු නොදන්නා අයෙකු නොවේ. ඔහු මීට කලකට පෙර අන්ඩයා නමින් හැඳින්වූ " ප්‍රවීණ " මාධ්‍ය වේදියාගේ සහෝදරයා වන "පුණ්ඩයා" නමින් හැඳින්වූ පුද්ගලයා වේ. මේ වනවිට තායිලන්තයේ බැංකොක් නුවර පිහිටි ශ්‍රී ලංකා තානාපති කාර්යාලයේ මාධ්‍ය කටයුතු සම්බන්ධව කටයුතු කරන හෙතම එම රැකියාව තනා ගනු ලැබුවේ හිටපු විදේශ ඇමති රෝහිත බෝගොල්ලාගමගේ ආධාරයෙනි. වරක් ලංකාවෙන් පිට වී ගොස් හොං කොං නුවර වාසය කළ හෙතම ලංකා බැංකුවේ රාජකාරි කළ තමන්ගේ බිරිඳ මාර්ගයෙන් ලන්ඩන් නුවර පදිංචියට ගියේය. ඉන් පසු නොයෙක් ආකාරයේ දෙබිඩි චරිත රඟපෑ හෙතම රාජපක්ෂ මහතා ජනාධිපතිධුරයට පත් වනවාත් සමඟම ඩේලිනිව්ස් හෝ ඔබ්සවර් පුවත් පත් වලින් එකක ප්‍රධාන කතුවරයා වීම සඳහා උත්සහ කළේය. නමුත් එය එවකට ජනමාධ්‍ය ඇමතිවරයාව සිටි අනුර ප්‍රියදර්ශන යාපා විසින් වල්ක්වූයේ අදාළ " පුන්ඩයාගේ" සැබෑ භූමිකාව දැනගෙනය.

එය අදාල මෙම පුද්ගලයා මේ වනවිට බැංකොක් නුවර සිදුකරන දෙබිඩි වැඩ පිලිවෙලින්ද හෙළි වී තිබේ. ඔහු ආණ්ඩුවට එරෙහි සහ මධ්‍යස්ත මතධාරී මාධ්‍යවේදීන් හමු වුව හොත් ආණ්ඩුවට විරුද්ධව බැණ වදින අතර ඒ සඳහා ඔහු බැංකොක් නුවර පිහිටි " විදේශ ජනමාධ්‍යවේදීන්ගේ ශාලාවේදී" ඔවුහු හමු වූ අවස්ථා රැසක් තිබේ. ආණ්ඩුවට හිතවත් මාධ්‍යවේදීන් හමු වූ විට ආණ්ඩුව වර්ණනා කරමින් අදහස් හුවමාරු කර ගන්නා බව වාර්තා වේ. ලංකාවේ සති අන්ත පුවත් පත් දෙකකට තමන්ගේ සත්‍ය නමින් සහ අණ්ඩපාල යන නම් දෙකෙන් දෙවිදිහකට ලිවීම තුළින්ම තමන්ගේ ද්විත්ව රංගනය ඔහු විසින් පෙන්වා ඇත.

ලංකා ගාර්ඩියන් වෙබ් අඩවිය ගැන තොරතුරු එකතු කිරීම අදාළ පුණ්ඩයා විසින් ආරම්භ කරනු ලැබුවේ අද ඊයෙක සිට නොවේ. ඔහු විසින් අපට පළමු ඊමේල් ලිපිය එවනු ලැබුවේ 2008 ඔක්තෝම්බර් 20 වැනිදාය. එහි පිටපතක් ( නම් සහ අදාළ ලිපින සශෝධනය කළ) මෙහි පල කරන්නෙමු.ඔහු එහි ඔහුව හඳුන්වා තිබුණේ " ඉතාම ජේෂ්ඨ මාධ්‍යවේදියෙකු " ලෙසය. එසේම ඉන් පසු ඔහු දිගින් දිගටම අප වෙත ඊමේල් එවූ අතර ඔහුට අවශ්‍ය වූයේ ලංකා ගාර්ඩියන් ලන්ඩන් වාර්තා කරු වීමටය. නොඑසේනම් විශේෂ වාර්තා කරුවෙකු වීමටය. ඊට අදාල සියලුම ලිපු අප සතුව පවතින අතර ඉන් කිහිපයක් පමණක් මෙහි පළ කරන්නෙමු.

Dear Editor,

This is to introduce myself and raise a couple of questions.

I am a very senior Sri Lankan journalist who has worked in Colombo, Hong Kong and London and now lives in London.

My elder brotehr the late XXXXXXXXXXXXX used to publish and edit a fortnightly magazine called the Lanka Guardian. I notice that though you started as Lanka Guardian you now call yourself Sri Lankan Guardian. Is it published in Colombo or outside Sri Lanka?

I have been a correspondent for or contributor to some of the most prestigious newspapers, news agencies and electronic media in the world including The New York Times, Christian Science Monitor, Le Mond, Guardian, Asian Wall Street Journal, AFP, Gemini News Service, CBS, CNN and was BBC Television News representative in Sri Lanka.

Though I am now retired from permanent employment I still write and do some work as a journalism training consultant for the Commonwealth Press Union.

I would like to contribute occasionally to your web edition.

If that is acceptable could you please let me know how I could do so and could you please let me have some guidelines such as wordage and where to send it.

I now live in London and noticed the other day one byline saying Editor London Bureau. Who is the editor and how do I get in touch with him/her.

Just a couple of questions. Are you Sri Lankan and living in Sri Lanka. I ask because you seem to have Colombo-based editors.

Also what is the usual wordage for your articles and when is your deadline for that day and for the next day? When do you update your website?

Also are all your writers just contributors or do you have staff?

Do you have a London editor and a bureau here or is it that people just contribute?

Dear XXXXXXXXXXXXX,

Two matters.

First anything I write as A Special Correspondent must remain confidential and you must keep it confidential. Who else will know about it other than yourself?

Could you give that assurance because there could be articles based on inside information and if the writer is known the sources could be exposed.

Whatever i write under my own name of course, would be mine. As I said earlier what I write with my byline will be pubnlished as from London Contributing Editor.

Are you agreeable to that?
